Slow Goin'

It's been pretty slow goin' in the blogging department lately. We have entered my least favorite time of year when it starts to get chilly and the sun goes away...and I have no desire to venture outside. I'm still trying to stay motivated and take Wrigley for walks through Lowe Park...he's on a weight loss plan..he's trying to rid himself of his new nickname 'Beefcake'....

One evening we came across a hot air balloon being launched....

The fall colors are pretty.....

In other news....Nathan finished another triathlon...

It was held in Cedar Falls a few weeks ago...it was cold, the water temperature was 64 degrees...brrrrr....but he was a trooper and finished within his goal time.

I cheered stood around and froze and tested my willpower by not asking him to get me a red velvet donut at the goodie table reserved for the athletes...did you know that red velvet donuts even existed?!? Genius!!

A few weeks ago we ventured up to Minneapolis to see Nathan's cousin, Kirk play some high school football. We had a fun time hanging with family and also got to reconnect with one of my friends from college. We met Angie and Matt downtown for brunch and also got to meet their new 'baby' Colin...he's not really a baby anymore...he just turned 1....

From Minneapolis we headed to Ames for the ISU vs. Texas game....we had a big family tailgate and also met up with our ISU friends that live in Texas...

It was the perfect day for football...the stadium was packed and the fans were pumped....

However, we played like crap and we totally got thumped...we pretty much gave the game away to Texas on the opening kickoff. It was pretty disappointing.

Adam and Teresa came up for the game as well....

Most of the time it's very hard to be a Cyclone fan....the football season has continued to be pretty dismal and disappointing...guess there is always basketball!
