3 years

Vivian turned 3 this past week. We had a party with my parents and Gma Jean on her actual birthday. I think she was excited...to say the least.

She did well blowing out her candle.

She had fun opening up her presents.

We were invited to school to watch her walk around the sun 3 times. We brought a snack and bubbles as party favors. Both GG Hein and GG Mangold came to her party at school. We read one of her favorite books 'Green Eggs and Ham' to the class.

Nathan and I bought her a Beta fish for her birthday. She loves it! We call it Mr. Fish right now...I've asked her many times what she wants to name it and she just gets this blank look on her face...so I'm not sure she gets that she can pick out a name for the fish. We gave her the fish tank and accessories to open and then took her to the pet store to pick out the fish. He's really quite pretty, a very vibrant red.

She loves to stand and watch him and of course feed him.

After a few days of having him I came upstairs to find that she had filled his tank with a variety of items from my desk drawer. Markers, push pins, paper clips and toy parts.

We had her party at Lowe Park again this year. Finding Dory was her theme...her cookies turned out really cute!

We had salad and pizza again this year.

Our distinguished guests.

Her reaction to 'Happy birthday'

Ryker had to help her blow out the candles...

Serving up the ice cream.

More presents to open.

Playing with her pony rug and her Little People Noah's Ark. I think on this ark horses were over represented.

Rowan napped through a lot of the festivities.

Looking forward to another great year!

9 month update

The kids had their 9 month and 3 year check ups last week. Rowan was 29.5 in long (86%), 21# 1oz (71%) and 45.2 cm head circumference (51%). He's already surpassed Viv's stats at her one year appointment. She was just over 18# and 28 inches long at 1 year of age. The doctor made a comment that he looked like a linebacker. Vivian was difficult to measure height and weight as she didn't want to cooperate...go figure. She was 35 1/4 in (12%...she was slouching), weight was 31# (54%).

I think he's going to eat me out of house and home soon.

Halloween

Halloween has morphed into a week long celebration...kinda like Christmas! We started Halloween weekend with a Trunk-or-Treat with my area Moms group. Viv finally 'got' Halloween this year and could say 'Trick-or Treat'. She loved her costume and loved even more that Rowan was Nemo.

Nemo and Dory

Making the rounds...

We went hiking at Lake McBride last Sunday morning. We had a great time and it was great to get outdoors.

Nathan became the pack animal once Viv got tired and decided she didn't want to walk anymore.

Sunday night we went to Monticello to make the trick or treating rounds. First stop was Gma Marie's.

Then we headed out to Gpa and Gma Hein's to visit with the cousins. (GG Mangold were in France for Halloween).

We also watched game 6 of the World Series between the Cleveland Indians vs Chicago Cubs. Cubs won and won the series...ending an 108 year drought! Cubs fans were ecstatic and are still celebrating!

Viv's spider hat she made at school.

And her cat ears...

Poor guy has no idea he's got a puff stuck to his face. Such a cutie!!

Ready to hit up the neighborhood!

She had trick or treating down! And also easily thanked everyone and said 'Happy Halloween!'

Some of her loot...She wants to open it all, but isn't so much interested in eating any of it. Unfortunately, Nathan and I will probably end up eating most of it!

Just one of her 'treats'....
