Hello, my name is Joanna and I'm an addict. I'm addicted to buying my daughter headbands. I guess it could be worse…I could be addicted to buying diamonds! In attempt to get out of these winter blues I've been shopping on Etsy looking forward to St. Patrick's Day and Easter. I have to use my pent up energy somehow since we can't go outside…..so I burn it by surfing the web during nap times. Plus, my child's head is growing…and she NEEDS new headbands that fit….right?!?
Moving on….we had our 2 month doctor appointment last week…that was closer to her actually being 3 months old but who's counting? Her stats….weight 10# 5.5 oz (15th percentile), height 22.5 inches (25th percentile) and head circumference 38 cm (10 percentile). So apparently she's still just a little thing. Our doctor said that the percentile's don't really mean a lot…we can't determine how big she'll be as an adult until she's around 2 years of age. I officially have moved her into her 3 month clothes. It was a bit sad buying a storage container for all her newborn things. She had her first set of vaccines- 3 needle sticks and one oral vaccine (rotavirus). I thought she did very well. I had to take care of some things that afternoon after her appointment so my mom and Nathan were home with her. She apparently was not very happy and they had to give some tylenol. Her little legs were sore but she was fine by the next day. She slept very well that night! She's consistently eating 4 oz of food at a time. She does spit up a fair amount and the drool has started so she lives in bibs these days in an attempt to keep her as dry as possible. She's sleeping about the same- around 5-7 hrs at a time which we are very thankful for!!
After getting her first set of shots….
This winter has been horrendous, very bitter temperatures and endless snow. I think the schools are already planning to go until the middle of June with how many snow days they've had to take this year. We had to get out of the house one Monday so we went out to see Aunt Bridget, Harper and Grace. Grace and Vivian are only 9 months apart….they are soon going to be double trouble I'm sure! In their matching kitty outfits...
We are lucky to have older cousins and get some of their hand me down toys. Bridget always loads me up with stuff they aren't using anymore….so we brought home a play mat. She seems to like it pretty well. But she doesn't tolerate laying on her back for very long.
Or her stomach….we still struggle with tummy time.
She loves to sit up though! She has very good control of her head and neck these days. I'm SO looking forward to the day when she can sit up on her own!
A quick nap with Dad...
The many outfits and faces of Vivian...
This girl can pout with the best of them!
Mom and Dad still come up once a week to watch her so I can go teach dance. Dad is improving his baby 'skills'.
We had our 3 month photo shoot yesterday. Harper and Grace were enamored with her.
I've officially made the switch to cloth diapers…at least during the day. We still use disposables at night and when we are 'out and about'. Nathan is also hesitant to use them- he says they 'intimidate' him. Why- I don't know. They aren't difficult to use and he doesn't wash them. Still my only complaint is that they are much more bulky than disposables but we haven't had any issues with leaks or diaper rash, etc. They come in all kinds of cute patterns and colors….lucky for Nathan (and our credit card) they are quite a bit more expensive than headbands….so I'll stick with my headband fetish.
We are currently napping while I blog. She still is sleeping in the rock-n-play in our bedroom at night. But I got her to nap in her crib! Score! I don't know yet when we will try to make the transition over permanently.
A vision in pink. I swear I've been looking specifically for purple girls clothes but can't find anything but pink! (I'm not complaining :) ) We have a new purple headband and we need something to wear with it!
